Pallet Wood Signs - Pinned It! Did It!

My pallet wood sign
There are some beautifully done pallet wood signs for the home that I have seen and love on Pinterest.  I created this saying through the custom program for Uppercase Living some time ago.  To create my sign I cut a piece off a pallet and adhered the vinyl lettering.

The saying is the Latin phrase from Adeste Fideles meaning "Come let us adore the Lord", a song I sing with my kids often.

Crochet Granny Squares Hat - Pinned it! Did it!

My Crochet Hat with Fair Ribbons

The first in a series of items I have pinned on Pinterest and actually took the time to complete.  This one even won ribbons at the fair.  There are so many great ideas out there.  Look forward to doing more!

Fair Entries

Thanksgiving Stamped Card
While the fair occurred some time ago, I still wanted to share some of my finished items.  They showed well and it was a fun event.  I will certainly consider showcasing my favorite items this way again.

Time for the Fair

I have dreamed of having kids old enough for some time to be able to enter various projects in our local county fair.  Well it appears this will be our first year!  I am getting so excited about it all!

My two older boys participate in 4-H, so they will be entering a couple static exhibits for that.  And, my two younger kids are entering projects of their own.  Mama even gets to play.  I will be entering 3 projects as well.  We have everything from paintings to sun-catchers to knit sweaters.  Today we are taking our first entries to be judged and next week we will take the remainder.  Wish us luck!

(Pictures of entered projects will come after the judging =)

Busy Life

The days fly by when I don't even know where the time has gone.  It seems that I spend a lot of time carting children from one activity to the next, but I am thankful for all the fun things they are able to participate in- swimming lessons, soccer, library times, taekwondo, etc.

We do have fun in this busy season and enjoy times together.  A couple nights ago we stayed up late to finish our Scrabble game (one of my favorites).  My two older boys were competing against me and did really well for a 9- and 10-year-old if I do say so myself.  My two younger kids were "fixing" my hair and it was just a fun time to be a family. (My hubby was peacefully resting in the floor next to us after a full day at work =)

Hoping to get back to a regular schedule soon with Etsy and crafting in general.  I miss it and will have to find a way to make it work in the hours I have.  Hope you too are having a happy summer!

Just Moved

After much frustration with WordPress free blogging, I am moving my blog this way to make life simpler. I currently have other blogs I help with and write at here, so it made sense to make the move. Please feel free to check some of my previous work at http://cardsncrafts.wordpress.com if you want to find more about me.

Fun New Sewing Project

When I joined a swap on Swap-Bot to make some of these great little pouches, I fell in love. They are simple, sweet and so adorable! I have already made a couple of them (as seen in photos) and hope to make a number of them for gifts or possibly listing on Etsy.
The fabulous tutorial to make them yourself can be found at Keyka Lou's Sewing Blog

Sewing for Swap-Bot

I have enjoyed so many swaps lately, but I find myself gravitating toward the wonderful sewing projects that are often linked to fabulous tutorials.  There are some amazing people and projects to find online.
Here is an example of a fun swap I recently did using the Circle Zip Pouch Tutorial from Erin Erickson of Dog Under My Desk.  I love this pattern and the resulting pouch was fun to share.

Absent from Blogging but Always Creating

Many days have been spent busy with life and not the computer.  I am a homeschooling mother of 4 that often finds the days fly by.  I spend my evenings and periodic chances through the day working on projects I enjoy.  So in my absence on the blog, I have completed many things.  Here are a few to share.
